Seven Oaks Library News

Note from Ms. Cecil

November has been a lively month in the library. Our book fair was buzzing with student excitement as they discovered new stories to take home. We also received a wonderful batch of creative bookmark entries, which will be sent off this month for judging in the districtwide Lacey Loves to Read contest!

In 3rd grade, students are diving into animal research, exploring habitats, and learning to navigate credible research websites. Kindergarten has been focusing on stories about kindness, responsibility, and animal main characters. They also welcomed something new this month: their own reading buddies, a joyful way to practice FRRED while listening to a story. First grade has been exploring fairy tales, noticing how familiar stories take on new shapes across cultures, and how characters and traditions shift from place to place.

I’ve also introduced our Battle of the Books club and student newspaper, both set to kick off at the end of the month!

😊 Ms. Cecil
